Reformation is needed …again

JOHN KNOX – AND THE REFORMATION IN SCOTLAND

As the books of Martin Luther, and Tyndale’s translation of the New Testament, entered Scotland, they were received with great interest. Students at St. Andrews University began to take their faith seriously. Patrick Hamilton, a student at St. Andrews, wrote a book that was condemned as heretical. He fled to Germany, met with Luther and soon returned to Scotland. Hamilton began preaching the Protestant Faith with great boldness.

THE BETRAYAL OF HAMILTON

By an act of Parliament, 17 July 1525, the importation of Luther’s books into Scotland was prohibited. In 1528, the Archbishop of St. Andrews summoned Hamilton for “a debate.” However, he had no intention of debating Hamilton, it was a trap. Before any of his friends could come to Hamilton’s defense, a church court hurriedly found him guilty of “heresy.”
While most heresy trials took weeks, Hamilton’s was rushed through in less than 12 hours. It took 6 long, excruciatingly painful hours for Hamilton to die by burning at the stake. Patrick Hamilton was Scotland’s first Protestant martyr. He was just 24 years old. His death inspired widespread interest in the Reformation, and an intensified opposition to Catholicism…

To the question that titled this post: Do we need a reformation in Grenada, the Caribbean and the world again? I say yes! yes! yes!

We need a changing of our hearts, from hearts of stone, to hearts of flesh. I say yes! We need a reformation, from a changing of our worldly wisdom that is demonic, devilish, hellish to a wisdom that is from God that is first of all pure, then peaceful, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy (James 4:17). Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace (James 4:18).

First Lady, The Most Right Reverend, Reverend, The Most Senior Superior Apostle , oh come on ,cut this crab! Bro.Bob is okay. Jack is okay. Let ask our selves this question: why is it that when Jesus was arrested in the garden of Gethsemane, that He was only identify with a kiss (that is the Judas kiss).

For those of you pastors who served in various battles and war (or theaters of operation as you called them), why is it that in various situation you were not allowed to salute, or give any indication of who is higher in rank than others. Yet you still functioned, you still give direction and things happened.

Often time the Christian community burden itself with titles and titles and titles. Wouldn’t nice to know we can find a Deacon like Stephen, who was filled with the spirit, a holy man, bold and fearless, and was willing to die for his faith? Are we willing to die for our faith? He spoke the truth that’s the reason he was killed. Today we will say we have to protect the leader, because if the leader dies, the church will be in chaos, but that a lie. God church is God’s. Nothing and no one can stand against His church. When leaders die, God will raise up other leaders.

We need some young people to raise up amongst our islands, amongst the world, who are dear to be different, who are willing to die, who are willing to go the Biblical way. The Biblical way is almost always contrary to what is practice.

Then we have the prosperity gospel. Then we have the prosperity gospel. After this we have the prosperity gospel. Then we have the prosperity gospel. Then we have the prosperity gospel and then the prosperity gospel. It has killed America, and now it has being exported to Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. After for Europe, that continent is dead to the gospel and they need evangelizing. But the Caribbean as a young population, as a young nations of people, have not analyzed, studied, learnt or do not know or care about the spiritual structure.

The church of Jesus Christ is in a box; and run like most Caribbean governments that are failing to say and do, what they said in their manifesto. It is failing to keep it mandates, go preach, teach, baptize, and make disciples.

What must we do about all these things? We cannot have church as usual. Church as usual is boring, in a box and wicked. It keeps men and women in ignorance, only willing to preach, but not willing to teach and disciple. Stop telling us about the fish you caught last week, last year, ten years ago. We do not wish to hear these things any more. They may be good for a few, but for many of us, it causes us to vomit (throw up).

What we need is for ministers and leaders to open the Bible and show us from the Bible, how certain things were done, then walk side by side with us in accomplishing those same thing. When we fall, help us to get up and do not take back the responsibility you gave us. If you do you actually are no different than Eli, and the Pharisees and Sadducees who missed God over and over. What I mean is this, if you said God “laid it on your heart to give” someone a ministry to handle and you take  it back from them, either you missed God’s voice, or God is a liar. You do the math.

The Grenadian churches are dying, the churches in St.Vincent are dying, St.Lucia, Dominica, Antigua, etc etc. Men of God, Women of God, launch out in the deep for once. Maybe we have been doing the same thing for too long. Maybe we have been operating in a box too long. But God cannot be placed in a box. He cannot be paced in a building. You yourselves preached this and believe it too. Why therefore the very thing that you preached and believe, you go against. You are not God. You are not more important that the one who live in the bush, under the tree or in a rat infested place. You are part of the body of Christ, where there is no Jew, Greek, bond, free, male, female, because all is all in all.

Accept that there are people brighter than you, more experience than you, smarter than you, who   exercise more wisdom than you, stronger than you, behave more foolish than you, more ignorant than you, less patient than you, more loving than you, is important. What I am saying; accept that you are not able to fit in all situations, you are not gifted in everything, you are not the best in anything, neither or you the worst. Yet God used you for the building up of the body, His body, Christ’s bride. Be careful what you do with Christ bride!

Our prayer should be give me America, or I’ll die! Give me Grenada or I’ll die! Give me St.Vincent, or I’ll die! Give me Antigua, or I’ll die! Give me the Caribbean, or I’ll die!   And let us put faith into action, and if we have to destroy the existing church structure as we know it, to fulfill the Great Commission, let us do it! You want to do something different than what is traditionally called church, pray about it and if you still sure this is what you want to do, contact me.
