St.George’s Grenada-As the world prepares itself to celebrate World AIDS Day -1st of December,Grenada continue to be pro active in its effort to battle the deadly epidemic.”PutD Brakes on AIDS”-is a poster to be used by a youth group in Grenada to highlight their effort to be part of this fight against the epidemic.The group “The Badd Cahh Drivers Club, will use their fleet of cars to form a motorcade for Grenada’s pre World AIDS Day Motorcade on 30th November 2008.
According to the office of the National Hiv/AIDS Directorate (Grenada), July 2008 was the launched of the “Put the Brake on Aids” national campaign however since the launch,awareness programs and activities will continue on till the 6th and 7th December- in Grenada and Carriacou respectively.
The Ministry of Health,the Grenada Red Cross Society,the church community along with other civil partners, have been doing their part in the war on this killer epidemic.
World AIDS Day, is the day when individuals and organisations from around the world come together to bring attention to the global AIDS epidemic. This year,2008 marks the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day. While efforts against the deadly epidemic have made inroads since 1988, there is still much more to be done.
